Questions, answered plainly.

What businesses ask us most, grouped by what they are worried about. If yours is not here, ask Ola, the agent on our own line, or get in touch.

The agents

What is an AI voice agent?

An automated system that answers phone calls naturally. It answers questions, books appointments, captures the caller's details and routes urgent issues to a human. It runs at any hour, in your brand's voice. Owlake's own inbound line runs on one, called Ola, so you can hear it working before you buy it.

Which channels can an Owlake agent answer?

Phone calls, WhatsApp messages, WhatsApp voice calls, voice notes and the chat on your website. It can be the same agent on all of them, so a customer gets the same answers wherever they reach you.

What if the agent cannot answer a question?

It hands over. On a call it can transfer the caller to your staff, or take their details for a callback when nobody is free. On WhatsApp it passes the chat to a person. You set the rules before it goes live: what it answers, what it must never say, and when a person takes over.

Does it answer at night and at weekends?

Yes, at any hour and on every day of the year. That is much of the point: evenings and weekends are when a lot of customers are free to call.

What language does the agent speak?

English. Every agent we deploy is built and tested in English.

Can the agent collect payments?

It can send a Mobile Money payment link in the chat, or by text during a call. The payment page is hosted by the payment provider, so card and wallet details never pass through the agent or through us.

Can the agent book appointments?

Yes, once your calendar is connected. It finds a free time, books the slot, confirms it to the customer and can send a reminder before the visit.

Your number and your customers

Do I have to change my business number?

No. For calls, we can move your current number across, or give you a new +233 line and forward your number to it. For WhatsApp, your number moves onto the official WhatsApp Business API. Customers keep messaging the same number, in a fresh chat: the old conversation history on their phones does not come across, so we time the switch with you.

Do my customers have to download anything?

No. They call your number or message you on ordinary WhatsApp, the same as today.

Getting started

How long does it take to deploy?

A scoped pilot on one queue is typically live within two weeks. Websites and mobile apps take 6 to 10 weeks depending on scope. Where a deployment has to clear a client's security or vendor review, the review sets the pace. We would rather tell you that now than surprise you at procurement.

What do you need from me to get started?

Your price list, your common questions, your opening hours and how you want calls handled. Sending them on WhatsApp is fine. Then you sign off what the agent will say before it speaks to a single customer.

Can I try an agent before I buy?

Yes, right now. Ola, the agent on our own line, answers at any hour: talk to it in your browser or call either of our numbers. During a project you also call and message your own agent on a live number before it goes live.

How does a project with Owlake run?

Small and measured. We start with one queue or one process, measure the week before anything is switched on, and agree at the start what happens next if it works.

Pricing and payment

How does Owlake price its work?

You pay once to set it up or build it, then a monthly fee that keeps it running. Voice calls are billed by the minute. Two or more services come as a package that costs less than buying them separately, and plans follow the size of the business. The plan we send within 48 hours carries the price.

How much does WhatsApp automation cost?

You pay once to set it up, then a monthly fee that covers a set number of replies, and a single service can run month to month. The price depends on the size of your business, so we quote rather than publish a list: the plan we send within 48 hours carries the number. Every metered deployment gets a usage cap, because an unmetered agent is a liability, ours included.

Is there a minimum contract?

A single service can run month to month. Packages run for at least three months. Larger engagements set their terms in the contract.

Why is discovery paid?

Because it produces real work: a written spec, a clickable prototype and a fixed price for the build. It is only for bigger builds, such as store apps, online shops, management systems and automation across several tools, and its fee comes off the build if we go ahead.

When do I pay?

Builds are paid half to start and half at launch, and larger builds are split into milestones. Monthly plans start with the first month paid before the service goes live.

Data and trust

Is my data secure?

Our default deployment answers, qualifies and hands over: it reads no customer records, writes to no core system and stores no account data. What it keeps is the conversation, as call recordings and transcripts, because that is what your monthly report is built from. Owlake is registered with Ghana's Data Protection Commission under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). The trust page sets out how the agents are built and what each one can reach.

Where are call recordings and transcripts kept?

By default, on our own platform. If they need to sit on your own systems, each call's transcript and recording is sent to your server as the call ends, and our platform keeps its copy only as long as you set.

Do you train AI on my calls or messages?

No. Owlake does not train on your calls or keep a separate copy of them.

Who else handles the data?

Every third party in the path, such as the telephone carrier and the speech and language providers, is named in the engagement documents before you sign, not discovered afterwards.

Can a caller talk the agent into something it should not do?

Agents are built on the assumption that someone will try. Instructions that arrive inside a conversation are treated as information, never as commands, and the actions an agent can take are fixed when it is built.

Websites, apps and automation

How do changes to my website work?

Send us a WhatsApp with the change and we make it. A set number of changes each month is part of the website plan.

Should I build a web app or a store app?

A web app opens from a link on any phone and needs no store review, which suits tools your own team uses every day. A store app lives in the App Store and Google Play, which suits something your customers open every week. The first thing we do is tell you which you need.

Do you build apps for iPhone and Android?

Yes. Store apps are built for both from one shared codebase, and we take them through App Store and Google Play review. Our own app is live on both.

Can you integrate AI with my existing systems?

Yes. CRMs, booking platforms, Mobile Money and card payments, calendars, internal dashboards. If it has an API we can wire it up. But our default first deployment deliberately touches no internal system at all; integration is a scoped second phase.

What happens if a connection between my tools breaks?

Fixing it is our job. Logins expire and software updates, so every connection carries a small monthly upkeep that covers putting it right.

About Owlake

Does Owlake build AI solutions for businesses in Ghana?

Yes. Owlake is built in Ghana, for Ghanaian and African businesses first. Mobile Money, WhatsApp as the channel customers already use, GHS pricing and patchy networks are the default assumptions, not afterthoughts.

Where is Owlake based?

In Accra, on Fourth Circular Road. The business is Owlake Digital Solutions LLC.

Do you work with businesses outside Ghana?

Yes. We run agent lines in Ghana and the United States, and a WhatsApp agent answers customers wherever they are.

Is Owlake right for a small business?

Yes. Most of the businesses we have built for are small: a restaurant, a caterer, a concierge service. Our single services and smallest package are made for businesses with one location. Larger companies and institutions get plans sized to them.

Still have a question?

Ask Ola, the agent that answers our own line and our WhatsApp at any hour. Or write to us, and a person replies.
